Ashoka Herath
Co-founder | Financial Strategy Partner | Mortgage Adviser
With 16 years of experience across banking, insurance, and financial services, I am proud to have partnered with Nissanka to establish Advisory Window—a company dedicated to guiding clients through their financial journeys with confidence, clarity, and genuine care.
As Co-Founder, I bring together strategic planning, hands-on leadership, and meaningful client engagement to ensure we deliver solutions that truly meet our clients’ needs. I believe great leadership is built on empowerment, open communication, and always putting the client first. Creating a supportive and motivated team environment is something I value deeply.
Before establishing Advisory Window, I spent three years in the Claims team at Fidelity Life, seven years at Union Assurance in Sri Lanka, and additional time at the Bank of Ceylon. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in financial services and a deep understanding of client needs, risk management, and financial planning.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Banking and Finance from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Insurance from the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute, and have completed further studies with the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). After moving to New Zealand, I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in International Business at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology and became a Qualified Financial Adviser, earning the New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) – Residential Property Lending through Professional IQ College.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two wonderful daughters who inspire me every day. At Advisory Window, I lead the loan application process and help drive our strategic direction—always with a focus on building strong relationships and ensuring every client enjoys a smooth, positive, and personalised experience.
